Robbery arrest
30-year-old Lindsay women is facing charges after an incident at a William Street North business.
At approximately 1:20AM on Saturday, February 18, 2023, officers were called to a business on William Street North for a robbery in progress. Upon arrival officers learned that the female had entered the store and wrote a note to the cashier. The note demanded money and indicated she had a gun. The suspect was still in the store when police arrived and was placed under arrest. During a search of the accused, officers located a knife. As a result of the investigation, Britannia Nelson of Lindsay has been charged with attempt to commit robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, disguise with intent and failure to comply with release order. The accused was held in custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on February 22, 2023.
Break and enter to Kent Street West business under investigation
On Sunday February 19, 2023 at 6:22AM a citizen, reported the front window of a Kent Street West business was smashed. Sometime throughout the night, the front window of the business was smashed with a brick. Unknown suspects entered, taking a quantity of cash before leaving. Physical evidence has been gathered from the scene for examination. The Kawartha Lakes Police Service is asking that anyone with information about this incident contact them at 705.324.5252. Impaired driver arrested
On Sunday February 19, 2023 at 1:30PM the Kawartha Lake Police received a report of a possible impaired driver in the area of William Street South in Lindsay. Officers located the vehicle and while speaking with the driver observed signs of impairment. As a result of an investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired driving. At the time of his arrest the accused was found in possession of drugs. 39-year-old Rickey Patrick of Woodville has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and possession of a schedule 1 substance X2. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West Lindsay on March 30, 2023.
