Impaired driver arrested

On Saturday February 11, 2023 at 7:15PM a Kawartha Lakes Police constable stopped a vehicle travelling on Highway 36 in Lindsay to investigate the driver for a traffic violation. While speaking with the driver, the officer observed signs of impairment and placed the driver under arrested. As a result of an investigation, 65-year-old Lawrence Sarginson of Bobcaygeon has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on March 23, 2023.

Drug arrest

On Sunday February 12, 2023 at  8:43AM a Kawartha Lakes Police constable observed a vehicle travelling in excess of the posted speed limit on Highway 36 in Lindsay. The officer pulled onto the roadway in an effort to speak with the driver. The vehicle speed was increasing, travelling in excess of 50km/h over the limit. The vehicle which was a substantial distance ahead of the officer was observed leaving the roadway while attempting to turn onto Settlers Road. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers searched the area and located the male, placing him under arrest. At the time of his arrest the male was found to be in possession 114 grams of methamphetamine, 60 grams of cocaine and 67 Xanax pills. As a result of an investigation, 31-year-old Joshua Lebrun of Earlton, Ontario has been charged with dangerous operation, possession of a schedule I substance for purpose of trafficking X2, possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking and four Highway Traffic Act infractions. The accused has been held in custody to attend a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay.
