Robbery arrest

A 28-year-old Lindsay female is facing charges after an incident at a William Street North business.

At approximately 10:10pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, officers were called to a business on William Street North for a robbery. It was reported that, a female had entered the store and after an extended period of time without shopping the clerk offered her assistance. The female showed the clerk a knife and threatened them, she then took several items and left the store. Officers attended the area and located a female matching the description given to police and took her into custody. During a search of the accused, officers located a knife and stolen property. As a result of the investigation, 28-year-old Melissa Marren of Lindsay has been charged with robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared in court on January 26, 2023.
