Assault arrest
At 5:19PM on Saturday October 1, 2022, Kawartha Lakes Police were notified about an altercation that had occurred on Champlain Boulevard in Lindsay. During the investigation, the responding officer learned the suspect and victim who are known to each other became involved in a verbal dispute. During the dispute the suspect grabbed the victim by the shirt collar, squeezing it tightly around the victim’s neck. The victim attended the Ross Memorial Hospital to be assessed. 39-year-old Ashley MacLeod of Lindsay has been charged with assault cause bodily – choke, suffocate or strangle.
The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on November 10, 2022.
Assault arrest
On Sunday October 2, 2022 at 7:57PM, Kawartha Lakes Police responded to Colborne Street West for a neighbour dispute. Upon arrival, officers learned the victim and a neighbour got into a verbal argument. During the argument the suspect began swinging both arms striking the victim multiple times. As a result of an investigation, 36-year-old Melissa Bennett of Lindsay has been charged with assault.
The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on November 10, 2022.
