Male charged with break, enter, mischief and theft

On Wednesday June 22, 2022 at 6:01pm the Kawartha Lakes Police were called to Durham Street West where a suspicious male was banging on the door of a residence. Police attended the area and spoke with the witness and multiple victims. The male had knocked on multiple doors claiming to be homeless. He had attempted to force his way into one residence but was denied access, then proceeded to another residence asking for food before grabbing items from the residence and fleeing the area. As he fled, he damaged the fence on another property and tipped a postal box into the street. Police located the male and placed him under arrest. 25-year-old Riley Cormier of Lindsay is charged has been charged with break and enter, mischief under $5000, mischief – renders property dangerous, theft under $5000, fail to comply with probation order and one charge in contravention of the Liquor Licence and Control Act. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on July 28, 2022.
