Lindsay Man Arrested for Theft
On January 26, 2018 an employee of a Kent Street west store in Lindsay observed a man leave the business with merchandise concealed under his coat. The employee alerted the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service to the theft and an officer located the male a short distance from the store. 21-year-old Jeremy Donnelly of Lindsay has been charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and two counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a probation order. The accused will make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 1, 2018.
Attempted Residential Break In
On January 27, 2018, at approximately 8:30am, a resident of Hillside Drive in Lindsay woke to the sound of someone trying to enter the home through a window. The resident confronted the intruder, who quickly fled the area on foot before he could gain entry to the home. The suspect was described as being a non-white male, with a light skin tone and wearing a blue toque. He was last seen running west on Hillside Drive towards the Scugog River.
