Unique Coats Taken In Christmas Break & Enter
A break and enter to a Kent Street West clothier early Christmas morning netted crooks some unique full-length trench coats and other clothing item.
Kawartha Lakes Police responded to an alarm at the store at 5:04 am on Monday, December 25th, 2017 and discovered that a large stone had been used to smash out a front window of the store. Once inside thieves removed a number of clothing items including some unique Scala Milano brand dark coloured trench coats, shorts and other clothing items. It appears that that the suspect(s) then fled to a vehicle that had been parked on William Street South. Photographs of the trench coats are available at www.klps.ca.

Did You See Santa Riding a Retro Yamaha 3-Wheeler
Kawartha Lakes Police are investigating the theft of a retro Yamaha DR225 three-wheeler that was taken from a St. Patrick Street residence sometime between Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.
Police were contacted by the owner of the 3-wheeler at 8:00 am on Christmas morning after they awoke to find that a retro Yamaha DR225 three-wheeler had been taken from a car port sometime overnight. The owner reported last seeing the 3-wheeler at 4:00 pm on December 24th, 2017. The 3-wheeler is yellow, and pictures of a similar style bike are available at www.klps.ca.

If You Can Read This You’re Impaired and Your Jeep Just Hit A Building
A man was arrested for impaired driving early this morning after his jeep slid through the intersection of Sussex Street South and Durham Street West and struck a building.
Kawartha Lakes Police were contacted just before 12:30 am on Wednesday, December 27th, 2017 after witnesses observed a jeep slide through the intersection, strike the building and then attempt to leave. When police arrived on the scene, they found a man standing outside of his Jeep a short distance away. When spoken to by the officer it was determined that the man had been drinking and he complied with a demand to do a roadside screening test for alcohol, which he failed. The man was then transported to KLPS where he submitted to breath tests indicating that he had consumed in excess of the legal limit.
23-year-old Nicholas Katcher of Fenelon Township was charged with Impaired Driving, Exceeding the Legal Limit of Alcohol in his blood and Failing to Comply with an Undertaking. He will appear in the Lindsay, Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, January 25th, 2018. The man’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
