Boat And Motor Stolen

Kawartha Lakes Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a boat and motor that was stolen from a Hillside Drive home sometime Monday morning.

Police were contacted at 12:30 pm on Monday, September 18th, 2017 after the owner of the boat returned home and discovered the boat missing from their driveway. The owner indicated that the boat, motor and trailer had been parked in their driveway when they left for work at 7:00 am on that morning. When they returned home shortly after 12:00 pm, they discovered the boat was missing. It is described as a 16 foot Lowe model 1667 aluminium boat, blue and beige in colour with a silver 20 horsepower Honda motor attached. The boat sat on a 2010 Easy Loader trailer black in colour with Ontario licence plate #D7299J attached to it.

Police are asking that anyone who may have seen the boat, motor and trailer combination or that may have observed any suspicious vehicles or persons on Hillside Drive between 7:00 am and 12:00 pm on Monday, September 18th, 2017 to contact them at 705.324.5252. Second Arrest In Tricycle Theft Triumph

Kawartha Lakes Police have arrested the second man involved in last weeks theft of an adult tricycle.

On September 6th, 2017 at approximately 1:54 am the two men removed the tricycle from the Glenelg Street West address.  Both males mounted the bicycle and rode south on Cambridge Street South until they were stopped by police at Melbourne Street West, approximately one block away.  While speaking with police, one of the men dropped a silver and brown knife on the ground, which was found to be a switchblade style prohibited weapon.  The male in possession of the knife was arrested at the scene, while the second immediately fled on foot. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Monday, September 18th, 2017 at 5:30 pm Police stopped a vehicle for investigation of a traffic related offence. During that stop Police also located the wanted man.

26 – year-old Chad English of Lindsay was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000.00, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00, Failing to Comply with A Recognizance and Failing to Comply with a Probation Order. He was released from custody and will appear in the Lindsay, Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, October 26th, 2017.
