Man And Woman Threatened With A Crowbar

A 61-year-old man has been arrested and charged after he threatened a man and woman with a crowbar Saturday afternoon.

Kawartha Lakes Police responded to a former Ops Township residence after being contacted by a couple who had been threatened with a crowbar. It was revealed that the couple had been the victims of ongoing harassment by a person that they use to have a business relationship with. The harassment had been going on for several months when the couple made an attempt to resolve the matter. The couple attended at the residence of the accused, and they were confronted by him on the roadway with a crowbar. The accused made a motion like he was going to swing the crowbar at them prompting the couple to leave and contact police.

Michael Bulpin of the former Ops Township was charged with two counts of Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon For a Dangerous Purpose. He will appear in the Lindsay, Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, October 5th, 2017.

 

Man Arrested On Outstanding Warrants After Suspicious Person Call

An Oshawa man was arrested and detained in custody on outstanding warrants after Kawartha Lakes received a call about a suspicious person around 9:00 pm on Sunday, September 3rd, 2017.

Police attended at an Albert Street South apartment complex on Sunday night after a called was received about a man who was threatening to shoot someone. When police arrived, it was learned that a man had been escorted out of the complex after becoming agitated and threatening to shoot others in the complex. When police searched the area, they located a man matching the description of the suspect and placed him under arrest. No firearm was located on the man and Police do not believe he ever possessed one. The man was found to have outstanding warrants however for several other incidents that had occurred in Lindsay.

31-year-old Kyle Kelly Luck of Oshawa was detained in custody on charges of Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00, Fraud Under $5000.00, Failing to Appear for Court and two counts of Failing to Comply with a Probation Order. He will appear in the Lindsay, Ontario Court of Justice for a Bail Hearing on Tuesday, September 5th, 2017.

On Sunday, September 3rd, 2017 KLPS attended at a Durham Street West residence, for the report of a stolen community bench.

The owner advised Police that they put the multi coloured bench by the sidewalk in front of his residence two years ago for people to use as they walk by.  There was also a metal water bowl for dogs to drink out of.  The bench had written on it, “Alley’s rest spot four all”, and was used daily.

During the night hours of September 2nd, 2017, unknown person(s) removed the bench and water bowl.  A wire cord was wrapped around the bench and a nearby tree but was not locked, only held closed by a clasp. Lawn Mower And Weed Wacker Stolen

On Saturday September 2, 2017 at approximately 2:00 pm Kawartha Lakes Police were dispatched to a William Street South address in regards to a theft.

When they arrived Police learned that after cutting the grass during the afternoon the owner left for a short period of time. Upon return they discovered that their lawnmower and weed eater were gone.

The missing mower and weed eater are described as a Honda push mower, red and black, approximately 1-year old valued at $500.00 and a Stihl weed eater model FS 40, orange and white valued at $200.00.
