Man Charged With Assault After Dispute
An 18-year-old Lindsay man was charged with assault on Monday after an altercation on the Rainbow Bridge in Lindsay.
On Monday, May 15th, 2017 Kawartha Lakes Police were contacted by a male victim who indicated that he had been assaulted after becoming involved in an altercation with another man. Police spoke with the victim, who had received minor injuries as a result of the assault, and learned that he had been confronted by another man while standing on the Rainbow Bridge in Lindsay.
The male suspect turned himself in to Police later that day and was charged with Assault. 18-year-old Bruce Vernon Clarke of Lindsay will appear in the Lindsay, Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, June 15th, 2017.
Anonymous Tip Leads To Impaired Arrest
An anonymous tip from a concerned citizen led to the arrest of impaired driver after a man was observed to be driving his truck with an open beer.
At 8:30 pm on Monday, May 15th, 2017 Kawartha Lakes Police received a tip that a man had just pulled up to a Queen Street residence and got out of his truck carrying an open beer. When Police arrived they located the vehicle but there was no one around it. Police then received a second call at 9:57 pm but when they responded the truck had left the area. They continued to patrol in the area and eventually located the vehicle driving southbound on Adelaide Street. The vehicle was eventually stopped on Kent Street West where the Officer observed that the male driver appeared to have been drinking. A roadside alcohol screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail. The driver was then arrested and transported to Kawartha Lakes Police were they provided further samples of their breath, which registered readings over the legal limit.
38-year-old Darrell Moulsdale was charged with Driving a Motor Vehicle With More Than The Legal Limit of Alcohol in his blood. He will appear in the Lindsay, Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, June 15th, 2017. Moulsdale’s vehicle was impounded for seven days and his licence has been suspended for 90 days as a result of being charged.
Dispute Between Two Woman Ends In Charges
A dispute between two women at a William Street South apartment building has resulted in a 50-year-old Lindsay woman being charged with Assault.
Kawartha Lakes Police were called to the apartment shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16th, 2017 after they received a call about an altercation taking place. When they arrived they learned that the female victim had been assaulted after she confronted another female about trespassing on the property. The female suspect had left the scene prior to police arrival but turned herself in to police a short time later.
50-year-old Patricia Saunders of Lindsay has been charged with Assault. She will appear in the Lindsay, Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, June 15th, 2017.
