Man Arrested On Outstanding Fraud Warrants

A Minden area man was arrested on Tuesday night on outstanding warrants for a fraud that was committed in the Lindsay area in January of 2017.

On January 17th, 2017 Kawartha Lakes Police were contacted by a downtown Lindsay electronics store after it was discovered that a man had purchased a $4000.00 fridge and other merchandise with a fraudulent credit card. The man left with the fridge before the fraudulent card being discovered. Police continued to investigate and determined that the man had also used the credit card to rent a U-Haul trailer, which he used to transport the fridge. The investigation also revealed that the man was responsible for similar occurrences in the Toronto and York Region areas. Police were able to identify the man and issue a warrant for his arrest.

Charged with Using a Fraudulent Credit Card X3 and Fraud Under $5000.00 X3 is 32-year-old Joseph Jason Allen of Minden Ontario. Allen will appear in the Lindsay, Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, May 18th, 2017.
