One Man In Custody After Neighbour Dispute

One man has been detained in custody after a neighbour dispute escalated out of control on Wednesday night.

Kawartha Lakes Police were called to a Wellington Street apartment just before 7:00 p.m. after receiving information that a man had been sprayed with bear spray. When police arrived, they found a 37-year-old man and his 9-year-old son both suffering from the effects of being sprayed with bear spray. It was learned that the man and his son had been involved in a confrontation with another resident of their building after a complaint of excessive noise. When the man and his son retreated to their apartment, the other resident sprayed bear spray through the partially open apartment door contaminating the father and son.

Police located and arrested 20-year-old Dillon Cown of Lindsay. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on charges of two counts Assault with a Weapon and two counts of Failing to Comply with a Probation Order. He will appear in the Lindsay, Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, March 23rd, 2017 for his bail hearing.
